Reviewed 22 October 2026. Study Australia's 7 October announcement states that new international students cannot enrol in or commence BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) from 5 October 2026. Students who had already started before that date can continue the course.
This is a restriction on the named qualification. It should not be generalised into a ban on every graduate diploma or Australian management degree. Check the full course code, provider and whether you had actually commenced, rather than relying only on an offer or payment receipt.
If you hold a CoE but had not started the affected course, contact your provider promptly. Ask for written details of your options and the effect on any course package. The official announcement explains provider-default and tuition-protection arrangements where relevant.
Compare the syllabus, entry conditions, total fees and academic progression of any replacement. A fast alternative is useful only if it fits your educational goal and relevant requirements. Keep offers, receipts and correspondence together before accepting a change.
Our Australia 2027 guide sets out the wider planning questions. The October Student visa brief covers the separate onshore and family reforms. Review both if your situation involves a further application or a change of study plan.
