Finland 2027 Applications: Check the EUR 100 Fee Rules

Prospective Finland applicants should budget for the national application fee separately from tuition and living expenses. The official Study in Finland 2027 guidance, checked on 29 October 2026, states that applicants from outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland are generally required to pay EUR 100, subject to the applicable rules.

Read the official application-fee instructions for exemptions and payment arrangements. Do not assume that nationality alone resolves every exemption question, or that a university's tuition scholarship automatically removes a national application-fee obligation.

Keep three costs separate

An application fee, tuition payment and the funds needed for living costs serve different purposes. Paying a required application fee does not confirm admission. A tuition discount should also not be described as proof that every cost of studying has been covered.

Create a budget with the date each payment may be due and the official source supporting it. Follow the portal's authorised payment instructions and retain the acknowledgement. Ask the responsible office about uncertainty before transferring money to an account supplied through an informal message.

This is a fee-planning advisory for current applicants, not a newly announced fee increase. Confirm the rules for your own application route, institution and circumstances before submission, and continue tracking the programme's academic and document requirements separately.
