Registration for the INI CET January 2027 session is now open, giving eligible medical and dental graduates the opportunity to apply for postgraduate admission at participating Institutes of National Importance.
AIIMS New Delhi opened the registration process on September 16, 2026. Candidates can submit their applications until October 13, 2026, and the INI CET examination will be conducted on November 1, 2026 in computer-based mode.
INI CET is used for admission to postgraduate medical and dental programmes including MD, MS, MDS, six-year DM and MCh programmes, and MD Hospital Administration, as applicable at participating institutions.

Candidates should avoid waiting until the final day because application errors, document-upload problems or payment issues can become difficult to resolve close to the deadline. The current schedule lists the registration-status stage for October 17–19 and admit-card availability from October 26.
Eligibility depends on the postgraduate course being applied for.
For MD, MS, six-year DM and six-year MCh programmes, candidates generally need an eligible MBBS qualification from a recognised institution.
For MDS admission, candidates need an eligible BDS qualification.
Candidates are also required to complete the prescribed compulsory rotating internship or practical training within the deadline specified for the January 2027 session. Current eligibility information lists January 31, 2027 as the internship-completion cut-off.

The 200 questions are reported as being divided into four sequential parts of 50 questions, with 45 minutes available for each part. Once a part closes, candidates cannot return to it, making time management particularly important.
