NEET UG 2026 Counselling Begins Today: Registration, Schedule, Documents & Complete Process

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has started Round 1 registration for NEET UG 2026 counselling, initiating the admission process for eligible candidates seeking undergraduate medical seats under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ). The counselling also covers admissions to AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, ESIC institutions, AFMS colleges, and other participating institutes across the country.

According to the official counselling schedule released by MCC, eligible NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates can complete online registration through the MCC counselling portal. The counselling process includes registration, fee payment, choice filling, choice locking, seat allotment, institute reporting, and document verification. All admissions will be carried out based on NEET UG 2026 rank, reservation policies, candidate preferences, and seat availability.

Candidates applying under the 15% All India Quota are required to participate through the MCC counselling portal. However, admissions under the 85% State Quota will continue to be conducted separately by the respective state counselling authorities according to their individual schedules and eligibility criteria.

MCC has advised applicants to keep all essential documents ready before reporting to the allotted institute. These generally include the NEET UG 2026 Admit Card, NEET Scorecard, Class 10 and Class 12 certificates and marksheets, valid photo identity proof, passport-size photographs, category or EWS certificate (where applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), and the provisional allotment letter issued after seat allocation. Original documents will be verified during admission at the allotted institution.

The counselling process will be conducted in multiple rounds. Candidates who are not allotted a seat in the first round, or those seeking an upgrade, may participate in subsequent counselling rounds in accordance with MCC guidelines. Seat allotment results for each round will be published on the official MCC portal, followed by the reporting period for successful candidates.

The commencement of NEET UG 2026 counselling marks the beginning of the national admission process for MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical programmes. MCC has advised candidates to rely only on official notifications and schedules published on its portal for counselling-related updates and announcements.
